Gong Bath Vision
Sound flowing through our cells, chanting the ‘Om’ to the rhythm of monastery bells.
Above us I saw a golden sphere which gathered to its light all the pain and shame of the lives gathered there.
I saw the gentle Buddha’s head suspended in universal space and from his left eye came a sacred golden tear; our tear, our pain; our loam of life.
As the tear fell through the vastness below I saw the verdant green shoots of new life reach up to embrace, in uroboric dance where tears and pain transform to beauty of their own.
Humbled in silence to the sound of the ‘Om’.

OPPOSITIONAL DEFIANT DISORDER!
My O.D.D friends and I welcome you to our Support Group.
Here, we who suffer cannot help ourselves.
It is our wont, our destiny, our calling
To question, to ask and to enquire.
To wonder, to ponder and blow authority asunder.
However, it is now decreed madness to ask why and is it good?
Will it harm and do you think we should?
So when a uniformed official instructs us to jump off a cliff
We must resist our natural inclination to decline
And tell them to go ‘where the Sun don’t shine’.
We should obey, smile and say it is fine.
O.D.D sufferers, lemmings, sheep, come on down!
Get in line…

The Beat
It starts with the rhythm flutter of a beating heart,
Duetted by bass drum beat from a mother whose life does impart.
To the syncopated sound of wind through the leaves and
Rain; to the ground,
The sound of the Earth goes round and round.
The clicking workers go on their day,
Commute to the bumping points of a train on its way.
The dance club beats and bodies sway
As the heat rises on another day.
Look upwards and see the flocks as they throng,
Swirling patterns against the blue.
Sway to the music of a pulsating sound
The rhythm of Earth goes round and round.
Join with the planets in the universal trance,
Spinning spheres in a Cosmic hoe-down dance.
From Universe to electron this goes on
It’s the macro to micro Cosmic carnival song.

A Poem for Ahmed and the Rain..
In England we complain about the rain and grey gloom sets in.
As we bemoan our lot and feel the chill, it saddens our faces and makes us feel ill.
The despond we own gets through to the bone as we batten down the hatches and hide in our homes.
……But I had a friend Ahmed who was in Ghana born. He liked our rain.
With closed eyes he lay back his head and shook his lion locks
And spread peacock feather hands to caress the sacred drops.
He smiled a smile so wide it melted the clouds within and without,
Warming rainbow hearts ‘til they burst with thanks and thanks and thanks.
Thank you Ahmed wherever you are!

Dark Procedurals
Digging deep, digging down
Set your opinions in the ground.
Watch them grow and feed them well
Stir the pot of duality’s spell.
Divide ingredients in the jars
Sort the dates, rotate their use
Add a drop of vitriol juice.
Make the classifications gain a pace
So everybody knows their place.
Systems in situ to confirm beliefs
Lock your mind with bolt and key
Incant your opinions on bended knee.
Search for similar peers to clench
Whilst shored up in the media dis-information trench.
Look for an enemy to relieve your pain
Supplicate and bow to fear and dread.
Long forgotten heart…
Is almost dead.

Beauty
Sometimes a flower grows and nobody sees.
In the midst of the forest its beauty lies unknown never to be admired, named or commented on.
But does it cease to be a beautiful sight, is its beauty diminished because the forest is deserted?
Devoid of all projection, beauty remains as pure a thing as can ever be.
And if anyone were to see; if anyone were to take that path,
What a privilege that would be.

The Silence of the Muttons
Not sure when it started,
Not sure when it began.
I faded at the edges and it travels towards my heart.
The flowers I cultivated, the soil I tilled
Don't leave the populous particularly thrilled.
A busy long life is mine to show
But it seems that others don't want to know.
No longer relevant;
In the room I'm the elephant.
Quiet rather than bolder,
Now that I am older.
The more I know, the less I say.
Seems much safer at the end of the day.
